#32 Cherry and Hickory
This super cool ornament happened by chance. My original plan was to turn this ornament as I normally do however, after I completed carving, I dropped it and the stem broke. I really liked the bell shape so I cut off the remaining stem and turned another stem out of hickory and connected the two together. The end result is a cherry bell and a hickory stem that includes part of the tree bark which gives its two colors. The hickory was harvested in Athens Georgia with the bell harvested in Hartwell Georgia. It is 3” tall and 2.5” wide.
