#39 Hackberry
This unique ornament was carved from the wood of a Hackberry tree harvested from my family home in Atlanta Georgia. The hackberry wood gets little respect as there are not many uses, however, I found that it carves and turns very nicely and has a wonderful variation of color. This ornament is 5.5” long and 1.25” wide. Additionally the design of the ornament was influenced from a recent trip to Bavaria where i observed these shapes on many of the church steeples.
